The Nantahala River

Trout Unlimited named the Nantahala as one of the top 100 best rivers for trout fishing in the U.S. Considered a gem by fly fishing professionals, the river is unique in that it maintains cold temperatures for the 3 species of trout to thrive even when other streams and rivers in the Southeast are simply too warm. The Nantahala is unique to the area in that it is a consistent 50-60 degrees year-round.
